Piton Malta has officially announced its support for REPLAST. REPLAST, a pilot project aimed at incentivizing plastic waste collection and recycling scheme in Saint Lucia which commenced in 2019, continues to be supported and operationalized through the immense support of Heineken Saint Lucia Ltd. and its brands.
Two weeks after introducing new and convenient (Polyethylene terephthalate) PET packaging for Piton Malta, the brand has gone further by committing to sustaining recycling efforts of plastic on island, for the continued duration of REPLAST.
Category Manager for Piton Malta Mrs. Fern Wilson- Jean commenting on the announcement said “When we introduced our new packaging, we were mindful of what environmental impact could be and by extension concerns among consumers. Therefore, as a key stakeholder of REPLAST we were actively engaged with their team to arrive at the best solution for recyclability of this bottle type. We are happy to announce that dark or amber bottles, will now be collected at the REPLAST Collection Points (RCP) in the north and south of the island.”
Effective May 2022 Piton Malta consumers among other consumers will now be able return PET bottles at the RCPs.
